About Barry
This is the personal site of Barry Hurd- online consultant, designer, writer, marketer, entrepreneur, and father. In my years of navigating through various challenges I have come to believe that there is a “True Love of Coffee” within all of us. So many of the words here put to paper; love, romance, compassion, angst, beauty, nature, forgiveness, grief, isolation, regret, knowledge, hate, empathy, joy, freedom, ecstasy, hope, loss, faith, envy, despair, wisdom, pain, suffering, need, want, serenity, horror, respect, honor, solitude, friendship, companionship, lust, pride, greed, purity, and truth.
Yes- Truth. The words, poems, lyrics, stances, melodies, rants, and unleashed ideas here will be the reality of what I know. Perhaps it will bring my spirit peace, knowing that my thoughts have been etched to paper, that my creativity is alive and well… and that I love.
Nothing is more important really. It has taken years to understand myself and the world’s chaos as everything evolves around me. The simple joy of the sun rise or a drop of rain falling to the ground has shown me how to live.
This writing is simply a glimpse of what I thought, how I felt it, and the words I tried to use to describe it. In the end many of these writings express something within me and hopefully a few of them help you express them too. For me at least; writing poetry gives me an outlet for feelings that many people are not even comfortable talking about.
Who am I?
I am a romantic, trusting man that appreciates life in all it’s wonder and seek friends who are willing to try something new and explore them with me. I love to work creatively with my hands and my mind. I am detail oriented, but I am also willing to jump right into the water and deal with details later. My friends and family describe me as being successful, intelligent, funny, creative, patient, and loving. I’m a person who takes what life gives me and tries to make the most out of it (most often with a smile or at least a grin). I work hard to improve the situations I find myself in. I have a sense of humor and sometimes find myself looking at a room full of people who are laughing at me. I also tend to be pushed in front of the pack as a leader whether or not I volunteered for the position. I also have a belief in being a gentleman with a sense of honesty, trust, moralty, ethics, compassion, love, and chivalry.
